mars map idea

Well looking at some of you guys make original themes is kind inspiring, i first attempted a rapture type map but it was way to crowded. But now I have a possibly great idea as a map based on Mars. With a sort of emptyish land, maybe not, made out of nether rack. Lava, traps, caves, craters. Do you guys think this is a good idea for me to do?

Maybe red wool or something like it for the base of your map as netherack is quite ugly, just an idea but you could have a massive mountain like a mountain on mars 3 times the height of Everest
