Hey guys,
Our art section has been up for a while now, and I've noticed some rules and or guidelines for this section should be added, because some of the regular forum guidelines don't seem to be applicable to this section. They aren't official rules, per say, and the rules of MCSG and our website still apply.

Regarding threads
  • Double posting is fine. This is due to the nature of the content; artists who would like to show updates in their work, or tell others about their new work, as well as people asking about commissions, are more than welcome to post again if their previous post is dated.
  • "Necro"ing is allowed, to a certain degree. If you are the creator of the thread, and it's been a few weeks since the last post but your thread is still relevant it's fine if you post again. Also, if you see someone's art that you like, you can do the same. Please don't post unnecessary posts, however.
  • Feedback is to be constructive. Many of our artists spend hours of their work and time, and we don't want people putting down their work. Instead of saying "it looks terrible", tell them how you think they could become better.
  • Likewise, take criticism well. People do not have to like your art. If they say it, and give you plenty of ways to improve, do not attack them and take it personally. Chances are they are just giving you tips to improve.
Regarding art
  • Art is to be appropriate. If there is any inappropriate content in your work, which does not fall into the "PG13" category, it will be removed. This includes, but is not limited to: profanity, sexual content, violence, and other inappropriate content.
  • Links to your art pages are fine. Links to websites such as DeviantArt, or other websites, are fine. It goes to say, however, that any links that break our forum rules (such as viruses, inappropriate content, etc) will be removed and you will be subject to a ban.
  • No plagiarism. Only post work that is your own, do not try to pass off other people's works for your own.
  • List your sources. If you use some amazing Photoshop brushes or textures, be sure to link people to the person who made them, this is common courtesy and often in the terms of use.
If you have any suggestions or questions, feel free to ask. If you are looking for tips about posting an art thread, check out FushiSushi's guide here.
