Interested in helping out the community and getting involved? Down below are the positions we're currently looking for...

NOTE: If you post on a staff member's wall or bug them on TeamSpeak regarding your application, it will be IMMEDIATELY DENIED.

Developer

Please direct all inquiries into a potential Developer position to our Head of Development, Gideon, and myself. You may contact us by emailing [email protected] and [email protected]

Moderator

Moderators are our first line of defense against hackers, spammers and trolls. Moderators are expected to hop from server to server, keeping an eye on players, making sure they're following the rules, and playing fairly. If this seems like something you'd be interested in, please read the following:
  • All applicants must be at least 14 years of age, with a deep familiarity with Minecraft, MCGamer, and all of MCGamers's platforms. Do not lie about your age! If we discover that you lied about your age, you will be fired and banned from applying in the future.
  • We generally prefer users with previous Moderator/Admin experience. Users with real life experience in team work environments are also preferred.
  • We ignore all applicants with 3 or more bans on MCBans, MCBouncer and/or MineBans.
  • We ignore all applicants who have current bans on our servers, or bans that are under one year old since the date of initiation.
    • If you have a ban that is one year old or older since the date of initiation, you will be allowed to apply, but are required to say so in the appropriate section.
  • Applications with poorly written replies or one sentence replies will be denied.
  • Applications that exceed the given length requirements will be denied.
  • Applications that do not follow the template will be denied.
  • All applicants need a microphone that they can use to communicate with players/staff on our TeamSpeak. It is your decision to buy a microphone if you do not have one; it does not guarantee you will be accepted as a moderator.
Make the title of your thread "Username - Moderator Application"
If you have been approved, we'll ask for a "Potential Mod Meeting" over TeamSpeak.

These applications are reviewed by the Senior Moderators and the Administrators. Please do not ask them to review your application.

In each scenario, assume that you are in a Moderator position. Briefly explain to the best of your abilities how you would respond to each situation.

You are playing a game and you see a player whose actions seem suspiciously like hacking. However, you are not quite certain. What do you do?

A player on the forums publicly accuses you of abusing your powers. They claim to have proof, and are demanding that you be fired. What do you do?

Two players on our TeamSpeak are verbally fighting in a public channel with 5 other people, and things are getting out of hand. What do you do?

You are watching the newest video of your favorite MCSG streamer, who happens to be a VIP on the MCGamer network. Suddenly, you realize the streamer is using a hacked client during their games of MCSG. What do you do?

A player is in the hub, incessantly spamming an annoying phrase over and over again. How would you handle this player, and what punishments would you use if they persistently spammed? Assume that the player continues to spam after each successive punishment.

-----

Why do you want to be a moderator on the MCGamer Network?

Why do you believe you are qualified to be a moderator on the MCGamer Network?

Have you attended any MCGamer Events before? If so, describe your experience with each.

How would you like to see the MCGamer community improve?

What are 3 qualities you have that you feel you could be improved upon?

If you were given the chance to be a moderator, what would your top three goals be?

-----

I, {Your Name Here}, accept the responsibilities by donating my own time by watching over the MCG Community and agree that any mistake or action not approved by the administration could result in a demotion, permanent ban from the network, or removal from the website. I also agree that by donating my time I am not entitled to compensation of any form nor am I to expect promotion.
