Since finding out MCSG can donate 25+ servers to help with the MCSG/PMC SG competition, I wondered what would happen to them after it ended. Then it hit me; what if MCSG added party reservations, where a party of 12+ players could donate $1 or so to play one map of their choosing in a designated time slot? We all love playing with our friends, and quite frankly MCSG has some of the best plugins out there, so I see some great opportunities for more donation.

Aside from just playing with your friends, they could add in some new things, like an actual host, more in-depth sponsor things, along with more slots for spectators if the server is rented out for streaming purposes. Even if someone doesn't have 12+ friends to join him/her, they can make a community event out of it by inviting others they've met from the servers. Maybe even community tournaments could start to happen...

Never thought of that. Really interesting idea, but it would probably have to cost a fair bit of money.

Honestly this is a great idea! This would help clan battles, subscriber specials, and anything in general.

Clan battles actually sounds pretty fun, hadn't thought of that either. I guess there would have to be ground rules though, since you don't want 12 guys teaming against 12 other guys. Otherwise it loses "hunger games" style gameplay.

I think this could make for an interesting sort of thing. It would make it easier for youtubers to have special events with their subscribers and friends, and the things said above. But the people that wanted to use the server would have to pay for it, and it probably costs more than what you said.

Yeah, doubt it would be just $1 but hey, wouldn't that be great for everyone? ;) Even so, if it was $5 or higher, a group can easily split the money.

Yes. Please. We always try to do these things but they never work on normal servers. Perhaps more that $1 would be needed to play, considering that they would have to go through a lot of hassle wihite-listing. Maybe $5 for 3 matches? Idk. Or maybe having a mod on to kick any players that are not in the party? That would be weird too. Having a moderator in your game makes it a bit more restrictive. Cool idea though, I would love to see it.

Maybe they could make a plugin that automates whitelist when a new timeslot opens up? Or, maybe a few mods could look this over to update it themselves, but that would require a lot of time though. I don't know, if they work on this they'll figure out a way to make it work ;)

Hm, I'm not sure if buying a server permanently would work, but I think maybe having varying amounts of allotted time to choose from, for instance 1 match to a full day, could work. Maybe they could add a new subforum for advertising open matches, like what you're considering.

How about the person that is reserving the server can whitelist it for the party themselves?

This is a very cool idea, it would make things a lot easier for clan battles, YouTube Subscriber Specials, Live streams etc.
