The GG problem

I often experience people killing like 5 people at first, and then, once they kill me, the "gg" strikes. Personally, I don't take it offensively at all. Even though the reason I got killed possibly could be an unfair one, I know that most of the time, people don't say "gg" to harrass you, or just to make you rage, and get yourself into trouble with the rules.

Think of it this way: You also say "gg" every now and then, right? Think back at the few last times that you wrote "gg". What were your emotions like? Most likely you wrote it because you thought it was a good, and exciting fight. Maybe you were impressed, or excited. Either way, whatever you were feeling at that point of time was probably a positive feeling.

Now, why do you think others say "gg"? Don't you think that would be somewhat similar to your own reason? Maybe they are happy, excited, impressed, or whatever it would be? Of course, it is annoying, but if you can stop being so selfish for a second, and think about the fact that you just put a smile on someones face, you might reconsider what that "gg" means to you.

If people are really getting mad over someone saying "gg" in the chat after they kill you, there is a simple solution:

Ofcourse, you can always put it at "Commands Only", but it will just do the same thing.

Bottom line is don't do it. All you're doing is making yourself look like a fool and getting disliked. Is it really worth ruining your reputation? Just to tell someone they are bad and frustrate them. They shouldn't take it seriously, true. But remember, Minecraft is a game originally created for kids, and they wont stop themselves from raging because they don't see the consequences. Saying these things sets a bad example, and people wonder why so many kids behave like they do on Minecraft.

Crackling Holy crap CracklingHD replied to my thread. I agree with you, but when a team of 3 full iron diamond sword says "gg" after they kill a full leather guy, it can get a bit irritating ;/

Just gonna say this, but so, sometimes when people say that to me I will get pissed, a lot. More then that, people will actually go as far as saying "rekt" and at that point I try and follow them to talk to them. It gets on my nerves and should be a kickable offence. Yeah. I mean, saying "gg10" is fine, as long as it was a actual good fight, but you were at 10 hearts. If you say "gg10", be sure to say good fight to that person and a smiley face, since if someone says "gg10" to me, and they had 9-10 hearts, I don't get mad about it since they pretty much did gg10 be . I get targeted for having diamond donor instead of platinum since the platinum name is too shiny for my eyes. I don't even when someone says "gg10", when they got a stone sword off corn, and target me for 5 mins for being diamond donor ;-;

When you're in the lobby just vote for what map you want, and afterwards just set the chat to "hidden".

Yeah, I get irritated by it if I find something really unfair, but at the end of the day, a lot of the drama around "the gg" is caused by people taking a game way too seriously, and not thinking about the fact that other people also wanna have fun.

A lot of the times when a 3-man team or something kills you, only one of them says "gg". This can be because that person possibly looks up to you. The 2 others might not necessarily know who you are, they just helped out because the other person told them to. Of course, you may consider it unfair and childish, but life goes on.

I never thought of it that way. BTW, I'm not trolling.

I was with Zincbox when Zincbox first started. I was with Zincbox when Iphoto wasn't mod. The community has changed way too much. I was rank 6 on 1v1, I taught lemons12345677 everything he knows, and KingDFW along with kenzierocks1. There was once a time when everyone rank 20+ or so was all a close pack of friends. A lot of the good community left/plays at insane hours. And the NCP is really messed up.

Anyways, back on topic!

Eh, I just started to play Zincbox, so I can't speak of the old days compared to now.

Anyways, the best way is to just ignore them. Saves you the trouble of typing, and saves your reputation. No one wants to be known for getting mad.
