Hello members of MCSG, I am here to rant about SG classic. Recently, I've been really down and depressed when I play MCSG because I feel it's just not the same anymore. A little over a year ago, I was happily playing v1 MCSG with my sister and her friend. It was so great back then, there were nearly no try hards and no OP chests. They had the good ol' FyreGames lobby with the big bridge and huge castle. When you would kill someone, the chat would be green instead of the modern blue and yellow. These were the golden MCSG days, and because of it changing into what it is now, the community has lost a lot of players. I used to be a huge MinecraftFinest and BajanCanadian fangirl back when MCSG was in it's v1 days, I was fascinated by their gameplay and had always wanted to play that version. Sadly, by the time I bought Minecraft, MCSG was evolving into what it is now. I understand MANY MANY players enjoy the present MCSG, but some do not. Now to the main point of this topic. I feel like SG classic isn't good enough. I want to be able to experience the same gameplay BajanCanadian and MinecraftFinest did when they played MCSG. I understand you guys are trying to keep the original look of SG classic, but let's be real here, the only map people want to play on SG classic is sg4. I would like to see a couple of other maps added as well such as Breeze Island, Ancient Japan, Hungry Hills, Skyland Islands (something like that xD), and maybe the original solar forst (which from what I've heard was taken down because the creator wanted it taken down). When I play SG Classic, I just still don't feel the magic. When I kill someone, it still has the modern blue and yellow chat instead of the green. Also, it's pretty hard to get most people to join an SG Classic game so I suggest adding more maps like I stated before to help spice things up. My prediction is if you add Breeze it will be a hit just like it was in v1. Anyways guys, I'm begging you to PLEASE try and make SG Classic as golden as it was in v1. I've really missed the old gameplay and I really hope you guys can make some adjustments. Thank you for reading my rant (if you have read it all). Have a good day!

Unfortunately, SG Classic is a thing of the past. Don't misinterprate me - I greatly prefer the good ol' plugin over the version II installment. However, as Minecraft developed, so did the needs and wants for many players. At the time of publication, MCSG promoted survival, which was fantastic because of the many survival aspects sported in the movie itself. However, as more players became attracted to this up-and-coming gamemode, changed had to be made and old traditions confiscated with to keep up with high player demands.

What I want more than anything is a renovation to SG classic. There are currently only two maps on the SG classic expansion network, and as we all know, history (and nostalgia) definitely was not limited to those two maps alone. I have many, many fond memories of playing games on maps such as Vareide's SG III and Hungry Hills - both maps were seemingly incredible at the time, and it baffled me such mechanics existed that enabled players to create such incredible, smooth maps.

Obviously, a renovation would take time and would not be on the top of the priority list - understandable, but something has to be done, for us few SG classic players. A renovation could very easily attract many other players to the gamemode, and keep us classic veterans satisfied. As it is, the game gets very repetitious and I think some changes are in order.

*Ahem* The boat on SG1, anyone?
I really do agree with this for the most part, though not completely. Here's my opinion:

I don't want to see Breeze on SGClassic. I really don't. The reason I liked SGClassic and the reason I liked the Chest Update Beta was the survival aspect. This is why SGClassic, while enjoyable was rather disappointing. I would have much preferred if rather than just uploading nostalgia-catering servers, they would have improved upon SGClassic, implementing some ideas from the Chest Update and other new ideas. I didn't want to only have maps that were there during beta, I wanted maps that truly fit the survival aspect. For instance, I think with some tiering alteration, Origins would play spectacularly, especially since some map design aspects seem specifically catered to improve upon the survival aspect (mob spawners for instance).

Here is another problem that is not just common with SGClassic itself, but almost all of MCGamer's other gametypes. Lack of promotion, and lack of attention. I understand that there current staff and developers are very busy, but if that is true, why don't they put out a statement on the forums and servers saying "Hey, we're looking for developers! Interested? Apply here: [link]" This would be a great help especially since a lot of players on MCGamer don't actively look at the forums and may not even be aware of them. I haven't played SGClassic on SG2 recently, so I can't say for sure, but to my knowledge SG2's tiering has been broken for months. When they fail to fix things or add new features, and don't heavily promote their games (through means of contests and otherwise), they simultaneously drive away the few people still playing the game and the people who haven't played it.

tl;dr
Promote other gametypes more, turn SGClassic into a survival-based gametype and update it with new features and new survival-based maps, rather than just having it be a nostalgia-catering server. Put more attention on fixing bugs in other gametypes, and if lacking in developers, bring attention to the fact you're in need of them.
