Ban for inappropriate names

I was thinking that what will happen if people that are banned for inappropriate names change their name to that is not rude would MCG
unban them.

EDIT 1.8 name change.

You can get banned already if you have an inappropriate name. People who change their names should be aware of this rule, so it is ultimately their fault if they get banned for such a thing. Also, I believe you can change your name more than once, so if they learn that rule the hard way they shouldn't be out of luck.

If you are banned for a inappropriate name I believe you are aloud to use a alt that is not inappropriate, or you can wait till the 1.8 name change. Then I guess post a ban dispute saying you have changed you're name.

No, he's saying with the new 1.8 name change, you should be able to be unbanned if you were banned for an innappropriate name and you changed it to something acceptable.

As for the idea itself, it only makes sense and seems fair. If they were banned for having such a name, making a dispute showing they changed their name should be enough for them to get unbanned. If they get banned a second time, they knew what they were doing, so they'd be permanently banned again.

If you are banned for an inappropriate name, you are permitted to play on an alt account, so long as that account doesn't have an inappropriate name as well. As far as being unbanned when 1.8 comes out, I believe you will be able to do that, but I am unsure at the moment.
EDIT: I am sure now, if you are banned for an inappropriate name, you will be able to be unbanned when 1.8 is released.

In association with Mason's post, I'll explain how 1.8 will affect our inappropriate name policy. When the name-changing is launched, players are allowed to change their inappropriate usernames to something appropriate. Once they do that, they may post a ban dispute and get unbanned. However, if a staff member finds an inappropriate name, they will still permanently ban the account. But, like above, they may change the name and dispute the ban. Thread locked.
