Hey guys, it's your friendly neighborhood Danny here, and I'm going to be giving you guys a Gaming PC Building Guide!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FAQ:
1) Most important computer part?: Tough question, and it's really opinion orientated, but my opinion is either the motherboard and the power supply
-
2) Where do I start?: There's this really cool website called PCPartPicker (https://pcpartpicker.com/) it gives you a ton of parts and peripherals to search through, and it gives you the latest deals and lowest prices, I really recommend that you try them out!
-
3) Why should I build?: This is a really easy question to answer. It is a ton cheaper and you can get better prices rather than buying one in the store. Most stores that sell gaming computers (example: BestBuy) they usually charge higher prices than what the parts are actually worth and you're not getting your money's worth. It's pretty fun too!
-
4) Can't I just put new parts in my old computer (example: Just switching out the graphics card,) You could do that, but it's not really recommended because if you have an old office computer and try to put in a new graphics card, it won't mix well and the build will be unbalanced
-
5) How do I build a PC?: I used this tutorial made by PCGamer (Tutorial: http://www.pcgamer.com/how-to-build-a-gaming-pc-a-beginners-guide/)
-
6) What's overclocking?: Overclocking is the form of tuning up the voltage on either your CPU, GPU, or PSU (in this case, the CPU) in order to add extra performance (Just a quick tip, if you're buying an Intel CPU [Highly Recommended!] the ones that have a k at the end of the processor's numbers (Example: Intel Core i5-6600k) are the only ones that can be overclocked
-
7) Which parts should I get?: DM me here on the forums and I'll be willing to help you out!
-
8) Any other websites besides PCPartPicker?: I have no experience with them, but I hear Ironside Computers is a very good website (http://ironsidecomputers.com/page.php?load=index)
