Discuss below, your thoughts.

To those who don't know what I'm talking about, basically Minecraft's EULA (End User License Agreement) was changed and Mojang is making it so that you can't earn money from Minecraft.
This means servers will no longer be able to be donated to, or you won't be able to buy GFX.

I, for one, think that this is the worst move in Minecraft's and Mojang's history- it's basically killing servers. Most servers rely solely on donation profits, and this new rule means that those types of servers will be threatened.

A petition to change this edit to the EULA can be found here.

EDIT: as iVelocityGaming said, this change is not yet official.

I hadn't heard of this, I really think that it is an absolutely terrible move by Mojang.

Does that mean that youtubers that do Minecraft and get money can no longer do that? xD
That's through YouTube, we're talking making money off of direct Minecraft-related business.

I guess this will be affected as well.
EDIT: nevermind, read dyna's reply.

Some legends are taking down Mineplex (ddos) to raise awareness of what could happen to servers (Not being able to get on, basically because they don't exist) if mojang doesn't allow donations. I support this.

MCSG is 'not for profit' the money raised goes towards server hosting and server improvement?

It's still making money off of Minecraft. Doesn't matter if the organisation, in this case MCSG, is not-for-profit, it's still making money regardless.

Terrible decision, if this does not change, minecraft will be slowly fading away.

To be honest, this is probably gonna be about that stupid trolling thing. When a lot of kids had a little cry because they weren't able to troll anyone on minecraft.
My point is, Mojang won't go as far as to stop all servers from selling things. It would end up with lots of problems.
- They will lose a TON of players.
- They will stop what some people may use as a living.
- They will recieve a lot of hate. (Death Threats, DDOS and all that horrible stuff.)
They can't and won't change the rules on that with a community like minecraft has got.
This is on a similar thread.

If this is introduced it will just kill Minecraft, I know for one I sure won't be playing very much anymore if this happens.

EDIT: Just in case people are unsure, the new EULA has not been officially pushed yet, but at the moment it is just rumours.
